About the Crystal Boot Awards
Back in 1996, Linedancer Magazine launched a brand-new tradition with the very first Line Dance Awards — and from that tiny spark grew the dazzling phenomenon we now know as the Crystal Boot Awards.
By 1997, the Boots found their true home in Blackpool, and ever since, the Norbreck Castle has echoed with laughter, music, and the unmistakable rhythm of thousands of dancing feet.
Fast forward nearly three decades, and the CBAs have become the weekend on every line dancer’s calendar: a glittering celebration of our community’s talent, creativity, and passion.
Since 2022, the CBAs have been proudly run as a not-for-profit event in support of the Line Dance Foundation (LDF)— the charity dedicated to helping professional and semi-professional dancers when life takes an unexpected turn.
So every step, every cheer, every award helps give something back to the people who make line dance possible.
Why the Norbreck?
Because size matters. Only the Norcalympia ballroom can hold our giant dance floor, the huge stage, the full production, and the number of dancers who come ready to sparkle, laugh, and make memories together.
What to Expect
Every year, the CBAs are packed with:
Workshops — learn from world-class choreographers and icons.
Non-stop dancing — from morning until the wee small hours.
The Awards Show — a full West End–style production with unforgettable surprises.
Themed parties — costumes, creativity, and plenty of laughs.
Moments that matter — from the Candle of Remembrance to the thrill of Awards Night

Friday

Friday (but actually Thursday & Friday!)
And now… we start the event on Thursday evening! Yes, the Crystal Boot Awards are now a four-day celebration — because one weekend simply isn’t enough.
Thursday – The Spark that Starts it All
We open in true CBA style with a "Wild Card" Party Night in the Norc.Expect the unexpected, dance until your feet complain, and enjoy the first of many surprises as our DJs set the tone for the days ahead. It’s light-hearted, a little mischievous, and the perfect way to get into the swing of things.
Friday – The Heart and the Light
Friday is where the community spirit really shines. After a day of workshops, laughter and catch-ups, we gather in the evening for something truly special — the LDF Candle of Remembrance, honouring friends we miss and celebrating the spirit of dance that unites us. The Line Dance Foundation takes centre stage, with ambassadors old and new, and Helen sharing exciting news about the Extreme Challenge 2026 in memory of Steve Healy. It’s an evening that combines reflection, joy, and the thrill of being together.
Saturday

Saturday – Glamour, Glitter and the Big Show
Saturday is the day we’ve all been waiting for. Workshops keep the energy high and the dance floor buzzing from morning through afternoon — a perfect warm-up for the evening ahead.
Then it’s time to transform… step into the glamour of the 1930s Silver Screen. Gowns, tuxedos, pearls, boas, bow ties, feathers, and fabulous hairdos — if it glitters, shimmers, or oozes vintage Hollywood, it belongs at the CBAs on Saturday night.
And then the magic unfolds: the Crystal Boot Awards Show — a dazzling production with world-class performances, surprise guests, and those all-important Boots. It’s a night of sparkle, emotion and sheer joy, topped off with dancing long into the early hours.
Sunday

Sunday – The Grand Finale
Sunday keeps the dance floor alive with more workshops, more laughter, and more memories in the making.
When evening comes, it’s time to let your imagination run wild. Our costume night finale is your chance to be as creative, colourful or outrageous as you like. From Al Capone to Clark Gable, Tiller Girls to Shirley Temple, or even Bonnie and Clyde — the Norc becomes a stage for every kind of 1930s inspiration (and a few surprises we never see coming).
As the weekend draws to a close in the very small hours, the last songs are played, the final dances shared, and we leave with sore feet, full hearts, and memories that will last a lifetime.
